The following is both OOC and IC information. If your character wasn't at the meeting, the information would have been passed on by your fellows in the battalion.
Two new recruits were added to the battalion: Champion Maenus Dawnblade of the Order, and Pheonixe of the Farstriders. Both have the provisionary rank of Blades, and will be meeting with the Commander to determine their posting and duties.
The battalion also has someone under its nominal protection: Wesly, who received a contract from the Cult of the Damned to kill Seana. He accepted it, then didn't carry out the assignment and came forward to report it to the battalion. Seana has charge of Wesly now, and will be working with he and Pheonixe to send a message to the Cult of the Damned by killing the group of their killers they'll no doubt dispatch to take care of both Seana and Wesly. Wesly has been promised membership in Sun's Wrath when this matter is concluded successfully. Members of the battalion are to report anything of interest regarding this matter. The rogue's been warned to watch his manners and his mouth by Command.
Two promotions took place.
1) Knight-Lord Seana Shadestalker was promoted to Captain of the Guardians. She's now ranking officer in charge of peacekeeping and justice among the ranks, in addition to her duties in Silvermoon. All matters regarding such are to be reported to her.
2) Champion Praethon Mithrendir has been promoted to the long-vacant rank of Shrike. He now serves as the ranking officer in charge of supplying military tactics and plans for the company, and will be working to inspect all companies to ensure they're battle ready. In addition, with First Sword Cynlan Dawnstrider out on special duty, Praethon has been assigned temporary rank of acting First Sword until Cynan's return.
Blade Diatethis Blazewing has been assigned the hefty task of gathering a group of volunteers to make a strike at the Pustulent Horrors guarding the ramparts of Mord'rethlar, the Death Gate, which blocks the approach to the Valley of Lost Hope from the Broken Front. Diatethis and his group must slay three of the Horrors, and report any reaction from the Cult of the Damned believed to be responsible for the Horrors' construction. Diatethis has been instructed that he may ask for advice, but -he- is in command of the assault, and must report his success or failure to the Commander within a fortnight. (OOC: time flexible due to players' RL concerns. Time-warping will occur to make sure it happens with the IC 10-day time limit).
The Warrunner tribe, long supporters and friends of the battalion, need assistance in the Storm Peaks against the Vrylkur. The Commander has instructed Tribus Warruner to select whoever he approves of from among the volunteers. Volunteers should be tough, reliant, and able to survive in some of the harshest conditions in Northrend. Tracking skills are a boon in this assignment. All volunteers will respect the commands of Chieftain Xavot Warruner in his own territory. Supplies have been arranged to be sent to the Warrruners, along with a contingent to guard them from assault. Command lists this as the highest priority: Honor demands we support our brothers among the Tauren. This is doubly true for the Warruner tribe, who have shed blood for many of the battalion and currently guard the Storm Peaks alone.
Two onlookers kept interrupting the proceedings. First Sword Praethon had an announcement to make, but expressed disgust at the constant interruptions and departed. (OOC Note: RL called Praethon away for a time, and ICly it would make no sense for his character to return after his departure. He was WAY mad IC
Commander Bloodhawk made it clear that such will not happen again in the future. Offenders will be clapped in irons and hauled off to the brig, immediately. Those who bring onlookers along are responsible for their behavior.
