Tick tock, tick tock....

I'm done with my term of service at work, and merely await my check so I can order my laptop. The minute that comes in, the landlord and I will be ordering our DSL, and I should be ready to rock and roll. I've already found two or three models I'd like, and decided on a backpack case for the thing. Swissgear makes the best ones, so I'll be ordering one to fit the laptop once I decide on the best-value model. Whoo hooo! I miss you guys!

New update. Well, it seems checks haven't been approved yet 'cus the programmers messed up the approval website, and my director can't see anyone in the system to approve them. They're working to fix this now, but yeah... I'm still waiting, and I'm now annoyed and stressed.

Unless I can get my fees waived/funding approved, I won't be able to attend school this fall, and this does NOT make me happy. I'm working with the financial office though -- cross yer fingers, and pray I get my grants approved. As it is, I've got backrent due and insurance coming up soon, so pray even LOUDER that they get the blasted website fixed so approvals can go out.

Just a warning that I'm going to be slow on emails and posting here, because I have to get major stuff done. The libraries are being computer nazis (max 30 mins a day on their comps now), so it's very difficult for me to get in touch with peoples.

Good news! My fees were waived for college, so I just need to wait until next week to find out exactly how much I can expect in grants and loans. There's an excellent chance I'll be able to enter a work for study program, in addition to accessing other funds to pay my living expenses. I'll update sometime ASAP. to let ya know my status. Cross your fingers! Just as soon as I get cash in, that laptop's being ordered for school and play

The model will depend on whether or not Tigersdirect or HP has the best deals when I'm ready to order. And... ZOMG, dancing laptops zomg.

Newegg is very good too. When I had my computer rebuilt, I got all my components from them. I think they're like Tigersdirect...so it might be worth your while to check them out also while you comparison shop.
